Processing technology and function of Chalco pre-stretching plate
Processing Technology of Chalco Quenching and Pre-stretching Medium and Heavy Plate:
Smelting——Casting——Homogenization——Hot Rolling——Cold Rolling——Solution Treatment——Quenching——Pre-stretching——Sawing——Aging——Finishing——Cutting Processing
During the quenching process, due to the temperature gradient between the surface layer and the center layer of the plate, a large internal residual stress is generated, which will cause processing deformation during mechanical processing.
Pre-stretching of medium-thick plates after quenching can establish a new internal stress balance system through longitudinal permanent plastic deformation, eliminate the residual stress of plate quenching to the greatest extent, increase dimensional stability, and improve processing performance.
The specific method is to carry out standardized stretching treatment on the longitudinal direction of the plate within a specified time after quenching and before aging treatment, and the permanent deformation is about 1.5% to 3.0%.
Detailed explanation of each state of pre-stretched aluminum plate
T351 temper
T351 is a natural aging treatment after the aluminum alloy has undergone solid solution treatment and pressure processing. In the T351 Temper, after solution treatment, the aluminum alloy is subjected to pressure processing such as stretching to eliminate internal stress and undergo natural aging treatment. This Temper is typically used in applications requiring high strength and lower stress.
T451 temper
T451 is an artificial aging treatment after the aluminum alloy has undergone solid solution treatment and pressure processing. In the T451 Temper, after solution treatment, the aluminum alloy is subjected to pressure processing such as stretching to eliminate internal stress, and artificial aging treatment is performed. This Temper is typically used in applications requiring high strength and lower stress.
T651 temper
T651 is an artificial aging treatment after the aluminum alloy has undergone solid solution treatment and pressure processing. Similar to the T451 Temper, the T651 Temper also eliminates internal stress through stretching and other pressure processing, and performs artificial aging treatment. The T651 temper is one of the most common aluminum alloy tempers and is suitable for many applications.
T851 temper
T851 is an artificial aging treatment after the aluminum alloy has undergone solid solution treatment and pressure processing. The T851 Temper is similar to the T651 Temper, but the T851 Temper is aimed at thicker plates or members, and achieves better performance through higher stress relief and longer aging treatment.
T7351 temper
T7351 is the stabilization treatment and artificial aging treatment after the aluminum alloy has undergone solid solution treatment and pressure processing. In the Temper of T7351, the aluminum alloy is processed by stretching and other pressure to eliminate internal stress, and it is stabilized and artificially aged. This temper is typically used in high performance applications requiring high strength, excellent corrosion resistance and dimensional stability.
T7451 temper
T7451 is the stabilization treatment and artificial aging treatment after the aluminum alloy has undergone solid solution treatment and pressure processing. The T7451 temper is similar to the T7351 temper, but the T7451 temper is targeted at thicker plates or members for better performance through higher stress relief and longer aging.
T7651 temper
T7651 is the Temper of high-strength aluminum alloy. After solution treatment, stretching and stabilization treatment, artificial aging treatment is carried out. This Temper is suitable for applications requiring extreme strength and corrosion resistance, such as aerospace and high-performance machinery.
T7751 temper
T7751 is the Temper of high-strength aluminum alloy. After solution treatment, stretching and stabilization treatment, artificial aging treatment is carried out. The T7751 temper is similar to the T7651 temper, but for thicker plates or members, with higher stress relief and longer aging for better performance.
Technical points that cannot be ignored for quenched pre-stretched aluminum plate
Excessive stretch
According to the tensile springback characteristics of different alloys and different specifications of plates, set the appropriate pre-stretching amount. For plates with high strength and high degree of alloying, there is about one thousandth of the natural springback after stretching (about 4 days), which must be considered in production.
Improper stress relief
Usually, it is due to the uneven clamping of each jaw; the local wave of the plate before stretching is too large, and the limited stretching amount is not enough to eliminate the residual stress in this area; the stretching speed is not stable, resulting in a new uneven stress distribution; the size of the two ends and two sides of the stretched plate cut off by the sawing process is too small.
Stretch process fragment
Usually, the quality of the melt is not good, internal slag inclusions, serious porosity, etc. lead to tensile fractures; the unreasonable distribution of the processing rate of the hot rolling pass makes the deformation of the surface layer and the core of the thick plate uneven, resulting in a severe cast transition interlayer remaining in the core, which can cause tensile fractures; especially edge defects (cracks, cracks, slag inclusions, etc.) of the hot-rolled plate cause tensile fractures.
Stretch slip line
It is due to the excessive amount of stretching; the amount of calendering in the leveling process before stretching is too large (referring to the processing method of calendering and straightening); the repeated production of quenching-stretching-quenching-stretching.
Therefore, maintaining a good hot-rolled plate shape, standard stretching process and correct selection of sawing size are important conditions for good stretching results.
