Cold heading wire

Cold-headed aluminum wire offers exceptional strength and formability, making it ideal for manufacturing various formed parts such as screws, bolts, nuts, rivets, rods, hooks, and nails. It exhibits excellent shear strength, making it particularly suitable for applications requiring high-strength joints.

Chalco's cold-headed aluminum wire conforms to international standards including ASTM B211, ASTM B316, JIS H 4040, GB/T 3196, and ISO 898-1.

Typically, cold-headed aluminum wire is hardened to a H temper, such as H14 or H18. Before shipment, we randomly select finished wire for heat treatment to convert it to a T4 temper, followed by shear strength and non-riveting tests to ensure that the finished rivets can provide a stable and strong connection without cracking. In practical applications, they can withstand the expected shear force, thus enhancing product safety and service life.
